Tolkien's Deskby ~89ravenclaw

Earlier this month, I was commissioned to complete this piece as course art for Dr. Verlyn Flieger's upcoming Tolkien class through the Mythgard Institute.

The idea behind the piece for to show Tolkien in the progress of writing his famous works, while highlighting the course material (The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings).

I finished this painting awhile ago, but since the course information is now online, I feel safe posting it.
